Throwback Thursday!

I really like Thursdays... it's a good day. It's nice because you're excited tomorrow is Friday, yet you're still productive because the laziness of the weekend hasn't kicked in yet.

I admit the weather wasn't as springy as I would like... but I must say there is something quite beautiful about a stormy day. The mysterious dark clouds quietly rolling in, commanding attention with its howling winds, pouring its heart out with sheets of heavy rain, sending shivers of thunder through the skies, and displaying shocks of electric light for all to see.

Maybe Mother Nature is heartbroken and needs to vent, throw a tantrum, and let it all out. Good for her. I just hope it's not a depression, and tomorrow she will realize it's not worth crying cold rain when you can let your heart shine instead. C'mon Mother Nature... you know he didn't deserve you anyway ;)

Well, as you may know I'm trying to keep up with this weekly post called Throwback Thursdays (check out my other two posts here and here). And since I'm cleaning out my hoarder closet this weekend I thought I would dig through and find some nice drawings to share with you today :)

It's Britney Spears "Curious" Perfume, can you tell?

{Ink and white conte crayon- College - Fall 2005}

When I look at these college drawings it makes me laugh a little. Looking back now I recognize how I put zero to little thought into the subject of my drawings and how immature I was as an artist.

My thoughts probably went like this...

"Sweet. New assignment. OK cool, I'll just look around my dorm and see what I can draw... hmmm... how bout this towel rack? Yeah! That'll look GREAT!"

I don't think I was as concerned with the meaning of the piece as much as I was with my technique and showing off my talent. What I needed to do was think first, take a risk, and draw something a little more thought provoking and interesting.

It's days like these I realize how much I've grown up these last five years.

Do you ever have days like that?

Anyway, here's a song I was listening to in the bath tub today
(you probably heard it before)... it's pretty chill.

Sit back, relax, have a listen...
or just play it as you browse through the rest of your browser tabs :)
