I really love the rain.
I love the sound, the smell, and the way it cleans the air.
Sometimes too much rain can make me feel a little blue... until sun stops by and together they make a rainbow baby.
So for today's Friday's Fancies "April Showers" edition, I stole some "blue" inspiration with NAVY and paired it with one of the boldest colors in the rainbow... ORANGE! Or tangerine if ya wanna be fancy...

This is a really fun color combo, one of my favorites. It's interesting though, because I don't have any rainy weather attire in my real life wardrobe... I never think about it.
I'm usually the one that forgets my umbrella and doesn't realize it's raining until I walk outside. Since I'm probably running late I don't have time to run back in and switch out my non-waterproof flats, so I skip over puddles and spend the ride to work with heat blasting on my cold feet. Let's just hope I grabbed my coat with the hood... we all know how important a good hair day is ;)
What's your favorite rainy weather look?

Love the striped rain boots!
ReplyDeleteI always forget to look outside to see what the weather is like too! I love the outfit & the bright colors. <3
ReplyDeleteI am in love with those boots! And definitely tangerine hahaha :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun color combo! I would love to wear this outfit on a rainy day. Nothing sounds like rain on a tin roof--and the smell is amazing when it cleans the air. Glad to be a new follower!

I love the rain, too! :) And that top you picked is absolutely precious. I would definitely wear that.
ReplyDeleteRainy days are my favorite, especially when thunder and lightning is involved!! Tangerine is hugeeee this season (as well as coral and aqua). I'm in the market for a new set of rainboots and a trenchcoat for rainy days.
ReplyDeleteVery cute outfit! I love the rain boots!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that travel mug. Rainy days make me want to don my favorite thrifted Dior sweater (a men's medium v-neck makes an awesome pullover for a girl - try it!), grab a mug of tea, and catch up on all of my favorite blogs. I never have it together enough to sport something like your gorgeous polyvore look!
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm a new follower :) I just stumbled upon your blog. I love your writing style and your whole look as a blogger. I look very much to reading more from you :) Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteps that travel mug rocks my socks.
ReplyDeleteLove everything here but especially those adorable striped boots and tangerine umbrella!!
ReplyDeleteYep, those colors together are gorgeous. I, myself, love a pair of rainboots with an awesome pattern.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
how i wish it rains here in the desert too! navy + orange really make a fab combo. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that combo too! And I, too, always substitute fancy color names (rose, amber, emerald, etc.). Ha. It's just funny. But I really get a kick out of saying periwinkle and being asked, "What exactly is periwinkle?" :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great weekend, love! Clearly, I'm playing catch-up due to our move.
Favorite rainy weather outfit? Haha! Considering that where I live (Oregon) it basically rains about 10 months out of the year, I've never really thought about an outfit with the rain in mind. I dress more for the current temperature and pretty much ignore the rain. ;P
ReplyDeleteJeans and a t-shirt are staples for any time of the year around here - add a sweatshirt w/ a hood in fall and spring - and add a warmer coat in winter. It never really rains in the summertime, so just basically shorts and a tank top work then. I'm not even sure where my umbrella is actually - we typically don't carry them here for some reason. It's just always on the brink of raining, or drizzling, or slightly misting, and we just go about our business as per usual, not ever really changing how we do things or how we dress just because it's raining. ;)
I do love the rain though, even though we get it all the time here. I love the sound and the smell - especially the first rain after a dry spell. :) And I love how it makes everything so green!! :D
