Save The Date!

Hello, pretty people!

I'm beyond excited to show you a side project I've been working on for a good friend of mine. She is getting married this September and I couldn't be happier for her :)

Naturally, I offered my design services to help her with the print materials. She wanted a vintage postcard vibe which I was totally in agreement with. Let me just say, it is so nice to have a client whose taste meshes well with yours!

What do you think of the finished look?

Such a cute couple :)

I got mine in the mail over the weekend and felt this rush of adrenaline when I saw it! Of course I speculated it for a good 20 minutes, and after critiquing it to death I finally hung it on my fridge and smiled.

Design can be a total mindf--- (couldn't find a more proper way to say that), but it is so gratifying in ways I can't fully explain.

I'm in a good place, however I'm not so sure I'll be feeling the same way during my Oral Communications class tonight.. holy crap, this introvert is NOT a public speaker!

Any tips? ...that doesn't include picturing people naked?!

  4. The design looks great! About public speaking, just practice every chance you get! Say hi to strangers, wish them a good day, or offer a compliment to someone you don't know. Any of that is considered practice, the more you are are used to speaking to people you don't know, it gets easier to talk to a group of people you don't know :) I hope that helps!

  11. AW! Your save the date design is awesome! I seriously love it. Every piece of it! I always have found that if I know my material well enough, (oh yeah Im talking about oral now..) then I am mostly only nervous for the first minute ir less. Then I know what I need to say and am over and DONE! good luck! OH last night - i redesigned my blog, and kind of mimicked your about me blurb aka picture.. don't hate me for it!

  17. It is adorable! I love the font and the swirlies. :) :)

As for speaking in class tonight - just stare at the little piece of wall directly above all the listeners heads at the back of the room. It looks like you are looking at them! Also, look around a lot - just make sure you are looking directly above their eyes - the wall above them or their foreheads. From that distance it looks like you are making eye contact but you aren't! :) Good luck! :) xoxo

  29. Those are adorable!!! You did a great job!

I hope the speach went well. I'm ok with doing them although it's not something I look forward to. The thing I remember is that *no one* wants to be doing them and most people aren't paying attention anyway.
