Surprise Sketch! {Round 3} + Giveaway Winner Announced!

Good morning friends & Happy Saturday!!

I know this day is usually super busy for everyone, but for me it's my day to catch up on emails, read blogs, stay in my PJ's and have serious cuddle time with the dogs.

Before I attempt to accomplish those things, I wanted to share with you my sketch from the week!

Let me just first say that I'm not as pleased with this one :/ The hands didn't come out right so I Photoshopped them out (must practice those), I messed with charcoal this time so it's not as detailed, and I'm not sure about the likeness, but you can be the judge of that.

Even with my shortcomings, I really loved drawing little miss

Even though it's not my best work, this series is helping me to reconnect with my art supplies again and just doing that is so enjoyable for me! There is nothing better than getting curled up on the couch late at night with my sketch pad and pencils listening to Pink Floyd and Pearl Jam like I did in my 4-hour drawings classes at USU.

I have to remind myself these are for my own practice, so I apologize if they don't come out exactly how you imagined! What I really enjoyed was the photo she sent me- it's fun and playful and inspired me to step away from the pencil and play with charcoal again. Thanks Lily for inspiring me draw you!

I even went a couple steps further and played with the Filter Gallery in Photoshop.
I prefer some of these more than the original, what do you think?

Annnd  since these are fun and it seems you might be enjoying them, I decided to make a little grab button to show off on your sidebar. It will link directly to the post with your drawing!

  2. Obvious likeness, you're way too harsh a critic on yourself. Nothing better than art-ing to Pearl Jam!! Love a bit of "10" while I'm painting x

  14. Wow! I can't get over how good you are at this! I instantly knew who that was a picture of before I even read it - that's definitely the sign of a good artist. You should sell custom portraits for people's blogs. If you've ever seen Moorea Seal's blog, she does that. Although I think I like your style better. ;)
