A "Howdy" Kind of Day!

Well, HOWDY, girls and guys!

What a weekend! I'm glad I finally got to get out of the house, get some sun, and turn a couple shades darker than paper. I watched way too many episodes of Games of Thrones (is there such a thing?), actually cooked and cleaned for a change, and jumped on a trampoline with my niece and nephew. Something about jumping on a tramp makes me feel like a kid again...

Know what else makes me flash backs to years past?

My top lady of the month, Miss Laura from Howdy Girl.

She just finished high school and is starting college in the fall. What a BIG moment for a teenager! I can't help but remember when I was in her shoes exactly seven years ago... I thought I had everything figured out at 18 with my life planned out before me. Boy, was I wrong!

This girl, though... this girl has big talent, big dreams, and I know she'll do big things. I'm so excited to introduce you to her fun and sweet spirit! Look out for her giveaway below... what a treat! :)

Howdy y'all! My name is Laura and I blog at Howdy Girl

I'm a redhead in disguise, a girl who just graduated high school last week, and a writer.

Yep, you read that right.

A writer, as in I write books.
(We're serious when we say we'll stick you in our books!)

I'm 18 years young, a girl who sleeps all day, and a designer, plus I've got a present for one lucky person! (I'm also a party host, so I mean, I have to give a present!)

This summer, my blog will feature a lot about a girl who's packing up the nest, moving for the first time in thirteen years, and venturing towards the wonderful transition to college, woohoo!

Visit my blog and I will love you forever, got it?

Why did you decide to start blogging?
I started blogging as a writing blog where I would update people on what book I was writing. A lot of other writers I knew had done the same thing, and even though I'm shy, I like standing out in the crowd (if that makes sense).

What is a typical "day in the life" for you?
Before I graduated, it'd be school on the weekdays and work on the weekends. Now, it's me playing on the internet, packing, or writing my book. Pretty laid back right now and I love it.

Are you an introvert or extrovert?
A bit of both. I'm pretty awkward when it comes to meeting new people, but I have no qualms about getting up and performing in front of people.

What kind of music do you like to jam out to?
Country music, and yes, you can jam to country music. My friends all claim it's pretty entertaining. My favorite song to jam out to is "Baggage Claim" by Miranda Lambert.

You go to get a manicure/pedicure.
What nail polish color do you choose?
I usually go with bright red because it's eye popping and people compliment it all the time. When people compliment my nails, I'm less likely to chew on them, but right now I have pink nail polish.

What was your first car? Did you have a nickname for it?
I still have my first car, even though he's technically not mine, he's my dad's. He's a black 2006 Hyundai Sonata and his name is Connor.

If blondes have more fun, and brunettes are mysterious,
what can be said about redheads?
Oh my goodness, I have to say is this is by far the best question I have ever been asked. And my answer is: we get even.

What would you say is one of your greatest accomplishments?
Either graduating or having my book read by a publishing company (they liked it, but it needed work so they didn't publish it).

What will life for you be like after graduating?
Well, it hasn't really changed much since I graduated. I mean, I've hung out with more people and I've had more late night shenanigans in the past week and a half of summer than I ever had in the first 18 years of my life.

What is the best/worst part about blogging?
The worst part is that feeling when you put a lot of time into a post to get no feedback, you feel a little abandoned. The best part though is the wonderful people I've "met," Kristen included, and how people who live in places I've never heard of can relate to things that happen to me in my little suburban town from Dallas.
