I am true to my generation... a 1990's fanatic, if you will.
I especially love how its music can bring me back in time. As I get older, I realize what the artist was trying to say... reaching levels much deeper than its catchy melody and chorus.
At some point while I was jamming out to my Ace of Base Pandora station, using my fist as a mic, and belting out the lyrics loud enough for my poor neighbors to hear, I started to listen a little closer...
Then I thought- holy hell! They produced some genius lyrics... no wonder I love them so much :)
I thought I would share with you a little hand-picked wisdom from some of my favorite Ace of Base songs... followed up by a playlist, of course. Enjoy!

Haha, Ace of Base was my first tape cassette I got for my very own tape player as a kid.
ReplyDeleteI still love them...actually about 5 years ago in Beauty School we were all having a party together & The Sign came on & we officially made that "our" song! So anytime I hear that song I now think of all the fun we had together in beauty school :)

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is the FIRST tape I ever owned. I listened to it over and over and over on my walkman for an entire summer. I think I was 5, but I remember it perfectly. Amazing band. haha. Thank you for this flashback. :D
ReplyDeleteUm. Ace of Base was hands down one of my favorite bands growing up in the 90s. A friend and me, when we were little would go nuts everyday "The Sign" came on the radio. Also, I choreographed a dance to "Beautiful Life" in high school for a drama project. Though the song has never been better utilized than it has in the epic film, "Night at the Roxbury".

ReplyDeleteAw, I love this! I can absolutely remember roller skating to The Sign in elementary school, its awesome to see some of the deeper lyrics you miss in 4th grade.
ReplyDeleteAce of Base was one of my absolute favorites back in the day!!! I used to lay in bed and just listen to their cd over and over. Totally obsessed. I like that they're getting some recognition! lol ;)
