Falling for Autumn

Dear Summer,

I have a confession to make.

When we first got together this year, I had spring fever. 

I was, in fact, delusional.

Sure, you are really hot.

And at first it was refreshing,

but now these heat waves are driving me mad. 

I thought maybe I could sweat it out,

but at the end of the day, I'm miserable.

And I hate to say it, but...

You're always sticky and need a shower :/

So, it was nice while it lasted, but we need a break.

I think it's only fair you know the real reason...

You see, there's this season named Autumn.

He comes to visit me each year, and I fall harder every time.

He is so much cooler than you.

I'm so much more comfortable when he's around.

Just a breeze and he makes my cheeks flush.

He likes to sip hot cocoa by the fire with me on cold nights.

...I could never do that with you!

Plus, you keep nagging me to shave my legs, and I'm just tired of it.

I'm asking you to leave. 

Today, if possible.

I'm really sorry we couldn't work it out.

I mean, maybe if Autumn bails, we can try again next year...

But for now I think it's clear we both need to move on.
