A Change Will Do You Good

Why is change so terrifying?
For fear of the unknown, I suppose.

I know it's what held me back from going back to school for so long.
Doubt sinks in and for a while you stop believing in yourself.

But, when we are pushed far enough,
and opportunity is staring at us in the eye,
change is inevitable.

After finishing school last month,
I'm seeing how my life has changed and I'm learning that change is good.
It's the only thing standing in the way of our evolution.

Besides,
Why would anyone want to stay a caterpillar,
when you could become a butterfly?

I see a lot of people in the blogosphere making big changes,
a new engagement, first time moms, people with fitness and weight loss goals -
that change is usually the inspiration for why they blog.

So, with the seasons changing this month, I was curious to know more about the changes some of my sponsors were making for the good and how it has affected their life.

Take it away ladies...

"Back in April I began a "lifestyle makeover" in which I gained self control over my obvious health issues. Up to this point, I've lost 40 lbs., and have recently kick-started the makeover for a round two. I'm open & honest about my progress (or lack thereof), and have an ultimate goal of maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle that is practical for me. I have a July, 2013 goal (when my wedding will be!!!) and hope to continue to make some big strides in the right direction!"

"The change I have decided to make is to not buy as many clothes (it is a hard one but I am determined to stick to it!), and when I do buy new clothes I have made a rule that I have to remove something from my closet to take it's place!"

"Last year I made the best career change of my life. I went from teaching math to teaching fashion. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed teaching math but there is nothing more fulfilling than being able to share your one true passion with others. I was given the opportunity to do what I love on a daily basis and introduce my students to the world of fashion. This was a life changing opportunity that I could not be more grateful for."

  1. This was inspiring, I am very much a scaredy-cat when it comes to change. I haven't recently made a change but am trying to be more confident and forward thinking in what I want for myself. Watch this space I think! xx
