If you're still wondering what to get all of your friends and family for Christmas, but you don't have much money... how about making a CD with your personal holiday favorites? It's thoughtful, inexpensive, and easy to do. Plus, you can make it extra special by
making your own CD cover. Josh and I did this last year when we didn't have much bank to break and it worked out really well!
Speaking of holiday favorites, I don't know about you, but I can only take so many Christmas trees to rock around before the holiday radio tunes have tuned me out. It's nice to mix it up with some uncommon covers of the classics. I felt like sharing a few of my favorites below (titles are linked to YouTube). Enjoy!
What are some of your favorite holiday tunes?
Which ones tune you out?
This is another good one to add to the list...

My absolute favorite Christmas music is the album "Snowed In" by Hanson, back from way back in 1997! I just LOVED those guys back then, and still do - haha! Such upbeat and catchy Christmas music! :)

I hate most Christmas music, but these seem to be a big departure from what the light rock stations start pumping out a week before Thanksgiving. And what a fantastic idea to give a cd as a Christmas gift!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas music! She and Him and Relient K have two of my favorite albums.

ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty good idea. I didn't even think about a cd. I will have to put that down for next year. I wanted to stop by and say hi via a co-hoster with you for yesterdays MMI. I am already a follower. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteAdore your list! I tuned into Pandora's "Indie Christmas" station the other day and fell in love with it. I don't think there are any Christmas songs I don't like, but I love getting a fresh spin on them. WAIT. I forgot. There is that song, "Grandma got run over by a reindeer".... I can totally live without that one.
ReplyDeleteI always love unconventional Christmas songs! Great picks, girl ;)

People call me Grinch because I don't actually like Christmas music. They always play the same like 6 songs just sung by different people and it drives me crrraaaazzzzy. Like, come up some original songs already, seriously. ;) Though I do know I'm the weird one out because everyone looks at me like I'm the crazy one when I bring it up. haha.
ReplyDeleteBut I do try to get Christmas songs sung by actual bands and singers a try. If I like their music style, chances are I'll like their christmas songs even if I don't like the actual song, per se. If that makes sense... Since youtube is blocked at work, I'll have to wait until I get back home to check out these songs.

ReplyDeleteMy favorites are usually the ones that give me shivers… like Oh Holy Night or Ave Maria. The ones I tend to get annoyed with are usually any of the cheese-fest ones from groups like the Beach Boys, for example. Lol.
